Regular Season Round 13: LKS Lodz - Start Gdynia 75-69

The most shocking disappointment of round 13 in the 1Liga was a road defeat of 5th ranked Asecco Prokom 2 (8-5) to eighth ranked LKS Sphinx (7-6) 69-75. LKS Sphinx trailed by 3 points at the halftime before their 27-14 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. Guard Bartlomiej Szczepaniak (187-81) stepped up and scored 19 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners and center Krzysztof Sulima (202-90) chipped in 10 points and 7 rebounds. Four LKS Sphinx players scored in double figures. LKS Sphinx's coach Piotr Zych used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side forward Krzysztof Krajniewski (199-89) responded with 20 points and 6 rebounds and guard Marcin Malczyk (193-82) scored 16 points and 5 assists (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). LKS Sphinx has a solid series of three victories in a row. The victory allowed LKS Sphinx (7-6) to climb to the seventh place. Asecco Prokom 2 is currently in fifth position with a 8-5 record as they suffered their fifth loss. LKS Sphinx is looking forward to face higher ranked Sokol Lancut (#3) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Asecco Prokom 2 will play against AZS Szczecin and is hoping to win this game.
