Regular Season Round 19: Toyota Alvark - Toshiba BT 72-54

Very significant was Toyota Alvark's (#2) 18-point home victory against 4th placed Toshiba Thunders 72-54. It was an exceptional evening for American forward Philip Ricci (202-80, college: Oregon St.) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 rebounds. His fellow American import forward Jeff Gibbs (188-80, college: Otterbein) accounted for 9 points and 9 rebounds for the winning side. Swingman Yatsutoshi Uda (190-86) came up with 12 points and American power forward Cory Violette (203-82, college: Gonzaga) added 9 points and 5 rebounds respectively for Toshiba Thunders in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players seeing no chance for a win. Despite the victory Toyota Alvark (13-6) stay at second position having just one point less than leader Aishin. Toshiba Thunders is currently in fourth place with a 10-9 record as they suffered their ninth loss. Toyota Alvark will play against Toshiba Thunders (#4) in Kanagawa in the next round. Toshiba Thunders will have a break next round.
