An interesting game took place in Forli where higher ranked Fileni BPA (5-6) was upset on the court of fourteenth ranked MarcoPoloShop.it (5-6) 88-79. It looked good early as Fileni BPA took an 9-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then MarcoPoloShop.it took control and eventually getting 9-point vistory that evening. They were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. Guard Alessandro Piazza (175-87) orchestrated the victory by scoring 22 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists. American forward Lorenzo Gordon (201-83, college: Oklahoma City, agent: Michael Hart) contributed with 21 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. MarcoPoloShop.it's coach Giampaolo Di Lorenzo allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. The former international center Michele Maggioli (212-77) answered with 21 points and 7 rebounds and American guard Barry Elder (193-82, college: Georgia Tech) added 14 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for Fileni BPA. Four MarcoPoloShop.it and five Fileni BPA players scored in double figures. The victory allowed MarcoPoloShop.it (4-7) who are in their first season in the Lega2 to climb to the eleventh place. They share it with three other teams. Fileni BPA lost their third straight game in a row. They are currently in eighth position with a 5-6 record. MarcoPoloShop.it's next round opponent will be higher ranked Tuscany Pistoia (#5) on the road and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
