Regular Season Round 30: Abejas - Huracanes 92-87

We should mention about the upset which took place in Guanajuato, where higher ranked Huracanes (22-14) lost to fourteenth ranked Abejas (13-23) in a road game 87-92 on Saturday. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Huracanes. The hosts trailed by 1 point at the halftime before their 42-36 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Abejas shot the lights out from three sinking 15 long-distance shots on high 55.6 percentage. The best player for the winners was Canadian guard Paul Sir (195-82, college: N.Arizona) who scored 31 points and 5 rebounds. American forward David Patten (203-84, college: Weber St., agency: Court Side) chipped in 21 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was American center Albert Fuqua (211-83, college: UTSA) who recorded a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 rebounds and his fellow American import power forward Robert Hornsby (196-82, college: Troy) added 18 points respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Huracanes' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Abejas maintains fourteenth position with 13-23 record. Loser Huracanes dropped to the seventh place with 14 games lost. Abejas will face higher ranked Panteras (#13) in Aguascalientes in the next round and it may be quite challenging game.
