Regular Season Round 6: Ikaroi Serron - AGOR 79-78

Round 6 means a new league leader. The biggest surprise was when host Ikaroi Serron (4-2) surprisingly edged top-ranked AGOR by 1 point 79-78 on Saturday evening. It also means the end of AGOR's three-game winning streak. It was a key game for the second position in the league. Ikaroi Serron trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 19-15 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. The best player for the winners was center Kostas Kakaroudis (204-83) who scored 20 points and 7 rebounds. Guard Giorgos Koukas (180-85, agency: FCM) chipped in 12 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was the former international forward Tasos Charismidis (203-81, agency: FCM) who recorded 17 points and 9 rebounds and Serbian center Damir Latovic (204-80) added 12 points and 12 rebounds respectively. Five Ikaroi Serron and four AGOR players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Ikaroi Serron moved-up to second place, which they share with 5 other teams including defeated AGOR. AGOR will play next round against Pagrati trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Ikaroi Serron will try to continue on it's current victory against eighth ranked Arkadikos in Arkadia.
