EMKL top team - TU/Rock (14-1) had no problems winning another game on Saturday. This time they crushed fifth ranked Rapla (6-9) in Tartu 84-61. The game without a history. TU/Rock lead from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. TU/Rock shot 22 for 30 from the free-throw line, while Rapla only scored six points from the stripe. TU/Rock forced 20 Rapla turnovers. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when TU/Rock made 8 blocks. The best player for the winners was the former international center Vallo Allingu (206-78) who scored 20 points and 7 rebounds. American power forward Callistus Eziukwu (208-85, college: Grand Valley St.) chipped in 8 points and 14 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was swingman Heigo Erm (190-80) who recorded 16 points and forward Indrek Kajupank (197-88) added 10 points and 6 rebounds respectively. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The victory was the eleventh consecutive win for TU/Rock. Current champion stay at first position. Rapla is currently in fifth place with a 6-9 record as they suffered their ninth loss. TU/Rock will meet at home BC Rakvere (#4) at home in the next round. Rapla will play against Valga/CKE and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
