There was a minor upset in Thessaloniki where 7th ranked FEA Neas (3-5) was defeated by ninth ranked PAOK (3-5) 61-47 on Sunday. The game rather controlled by PAOK. FEA Neas managed to win third quarter 19-11. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding FEA Neas to just 5 points in first quarter and to 14 points in first half. PAOK forced 20 FEA Neas turnovers. The best player for the winners was the former international guard Nafsika Stavridou (182-86) who scored 14 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. International forward Dimitra Giannopoulou (184-84) chipped in 16 points and 5 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). International guard Tania Halivera (178-85) produced 14 points and 9 rebounds and American forward Randee Henry (186-82, college: UNLV) added 14 points and 5 rebounds respectively for the guests. The victory allowed PAOK (3-5) who are in their first season in the A1 to climb to the seventh place. They share it with Apollon and defeated FEA Neas. PAOK will meet Apollon (#8) in the next round. FEA Neas will play against the league's second-placed Esperides and will have a slim chance for a victory.
