Very significant was Umana Venezia's (#2) 30-point home victory against 10th ranked Assigeco BPL 93-63. It allowed Umana Venezia to take over a leadership position after previos leader Snaidero Udine lost it's game. The game without a history. Umana Venezia lead from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Umana Venezia forced 20 Assigeco BPL turnovers and outrebounded them 37-26 including 27 on the defensive glass. It was a great shooting night for Umana Venezia especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 57.9 percentageThey were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assistsAssigeco BPL was plagued by 30 personal fouls down the stretch. It was an exceptional evening for American-Bulgarian guard Kiki Clark (173-84, college: St.Peter's) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 5 rebounds and 10 assists. American forward Tamar Slay (204-80, college: Marshall) accounted for 20 points for the winning side. Four Umana Venezia players scored in double figures. American forward Ruben Boykin (201-85, college: N.Arizona) came up with 12 points and 5 rebounds and guard Marco Venuto (190-85) added 13 points respectively for Assigeco BPL in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players seeing no chance for a win. Umana Venezia (10-1) have an impressive series of six victories in a row. The victory allowed Umana Venezia (10-1) to take over a leadership position. Assigeco BPL lost fourth consecutive game. The team is currently 4-7 and went down to eleventh place. Assigeco BPL will play next round against Immobiliare SR trying to get back on the winning streak. Umana Venezia will try to continue on it's current victory against thirteenth ranked Trenkwalder RE at Reggio Emilia.
