Rather expected game when 5th ranked BS Weert (8-9) was defeated at home by third ranked Eiffel Towers (13-5) 72-57 on Tuesday. The guests were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Eiffel Towers dominated down low during the game scoring 44 of its points in the paint compared to BS Weert's 24 and made 16-of-17 free shots (94.1 percent) during the game. Eiffel Towers outrebounded BS Weert 49-36 including 34 on the defensive glass. American swingman Julien Mills (193-85, college: Ball St., agency: Warren Sports International) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 12 rebounds for the winners and the former international guard Rogier Jansen (188-84, agency: Court Side) chipped in 13 points and 7 rebounds. American power forward Donte Minter (203-84, college: Virginia) responded with 22 points and 9 rebounds and the other American import forward Junior Hairston (203-84, college: Towson, agency: Court Side) scored 9 points and 10 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Eiffel Towers have an impressive series of five victories in a row. Despite the win they stay at third position having just two points less than leader GasTerra. BS Weert is currently in fifth place with a 8-9 record as they suffered their ninth loss. Eiffel Towers will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. BS Weert will play on the road against ABC (#7) in Amsterdam and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
