Very expected game when 11th ranked CB Guadalajara (4-8) lost at home to third ranked River Andorra (9-3) 74-65 on Friday. The guests trailed by 13 points after first quarter, but they rallied back winning two of next three quarters and winning the game by 9 points. River Andorra dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to CB Guadalajara's 32. River Andorra outrebounded CB Guadalajara 43-24 including a 30-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. Quite impressive performance for American center Justin Howard (208-81, college: Mercer) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 14 points and 13 rebounds. His fellow American import guard James Holmes (188-83, college: S.Florida) contributed with 18 points for the winners. Nigerian power forward Olaseni Lawal (206-86, college: Wayne St., MI) answered with 21 points and 8 rebounds and center Sergio Fernandez (200-75) added 11 points in the effort for CB Guadalajara. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. River Andorra jumped to the second spot. They share the position with Mallorca and Promobys. CB Guadalajara dropped to the twelfth place. River Andorra will face Regal FC II (#10) in Barcelona in the next round and are hoping to win another game. CB Guadalajara will play on the road against Prat Juventud.
