We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 8th ranked UB La Palma (7-7) was defeated at home by ninth ranked Girona FC (7-7) 82-77 on Friday. The guests were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. The best player for the winners was American forward Levi Rost (201-83, college: W.Michigan) who scored 27 points. Forward Sergi Pino (196-87) chipped in 13 points. Mexican-American forward Roman Martinez (201-88, college: N.Mexico) produced 23 points and Colombian forward Juan Palacios (203-85) added 18 points and 6 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Girona FC moved-up to seventh place, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated UB La Palma. UB La Palma lost fifth consecutive game. Girona FC will face Lleida Basquet (#11) at home in the next round.
