Lleida Basquet (6-8) survived in overtime against Ford Burgos (9-5) by seven points 93-86 on Friday night. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Ford Burgos. Ford Burgos was trailing by 7 points at halftime but managed to get 6-point lead after three quarters before a 26-20 charge of Lleida Basquet, which allowed them to tie the game at the end of regular time. They were better in overtime eventually winning that period 16-9. Lleida Basquet had a 29-18 advantage in offensive rebounds. American guard Corey Brewer (188-75, college: Oklahoma) scored 33 points (!!!) to lead the charge for the winners and Ghanian guard Alhaji Mohammed (192-81, college: Louisville, agency: Beo Basket) chipped in 22 points during the contest. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Lleida Basquet moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with Alcazar. Loser Ford Burgos keeps the fourth position with five games lost. They share it with Caceres and Navarra. Lleida Basquet will meet higher ranked Girona FC (#9) on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Ford Burgos will play against Melilla Baloncesto (#10) and hope to secure a win.
