Regular Season Round 10: 36ers - Kings 81-77

Date: December 17, 2010
There was no surprise in Findon where 9th ranked Kings (1-14) were defeated by sixth ranked Adelaide 36ers (5-9) 81-77. Kings were ahead by 2 points at the halftime before a 25-14 third quarter run of Adelaide 36ers. They made 17-of-19 charity shots (89.5 percent) during the game. American guard Eddie Shannon (180-77, college: Florida) notched 13 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the effort and the former international swingman Brad Hill (198-86) supported him with 15 points. Even 15 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists by American forward Trey Gilder (206-85, college: Northwestern St.) did not help to save the game for Kings. Guard Luke Martin (181-81, college: UTEP) added 18 points for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Despite that victory Adelaide 36ers went down to seventh position due to points difference, which they share with Tigers. Kings lost thirteenth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom place with 14 games lost. Adelaide 36ers' next round opponent will be higher ranked Townsville Crocodiles (#5) in Wulguru and it may be quite challenging game. Kings will play at home against Melbourne Tigers (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
