Regular Season Round 9: FEA Neas - Ikaros Kalitheas 65-63

A very interesting game took place in Halkidon. It ended with only two-point defeat on the road of second-best Esperides (7-2) to ninth ranked FEA Neas (4-5) 63-65 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Esperides. The hosts were tied after three quarters but managed to speed up in last quarter eventually winning the game. FEA Neas forced 20 Esperides turnovers. It was a good game for American forward Randee Henry (186-82, college: UNLV) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds. International forward Evina Stamati (180-84) contributed with 21 points for the winners. Guard Roula Kalogirou (172-81) answered with 16 points, 6 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals and Bulgarian center Lidia Milkova (192-70) added 14 points and 7 rebounds (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!) in the effort for Esperides. FEA Neas moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Apollon. Esperides at the other side keeps the second position with two games lost. They share it with DAS Ano Liosa. FEA Neas will play against bottom-ranked Amarillida (#12) at home in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Esperides will play against Apollon (#7) in Ptolemaida and hopes to get back on the winning track.
