Regular Season Round 15: Sportino - Start Gdynia 78-80

The biggest surprise of round 15 in the 1Liga took place in Inowroclaw. Sixth ranked Asecco Prokom 2 (9-5) saved a 2-point victory at home edging second-best ISS Sportino (11-4) 80-78 on Saturday evening. ISS Sportino trailed by 11 points after 3 quarters before a 25-16 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 78-80 at the end of the game. Asecco Prokom 2 outrebounded ISS Sportino 46-27 including 17 on the offensive glass. It was a good game for forward Tomasz Wojdyla (201-77) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 rebounds. Guard Marcin Malczyk (193-82) contributed with 5 points, 18 rebounds, 9 assists and 5 steals for the winners. The former international guard Lukasz Zytko (181-81) answered with 26 points, 6 rebounds, 7 assists and 5 steals and the former international guard Wiaczeslaw Rosnowski (198-75, agency: Court Side) added 16 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for ISS Sportino. Four ISS Sportino players scored in double figures. Asecco Prokom 2 did not change their sixth position in the standings. ISS Sportino keeps the second place. They have the same record like Rosasport and Sokol Lancut. Asecco Prokom 2 are looking forward to face higher ranked MMKS Dabrowa Gornicza (#5) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. ISS Sportino will play against the league's second-placed Sokol Lancut and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
