Bottom-ranked Erelita-KTU managed to get a sixth victory, breaking the two-game losing streak. This time they outleveled thirteenth-ranked Akademija in Vilnius 86-46. It's especially surprising that the victory came too easily and 40-point difference suggests that Erelita-KTU is in a good shape to leave the bottom place. The game without a history. Erelita-KTU led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Erelita-KTU forced 26 Akademija turnovers and had a 28-16 advantage in offensive rebounds. They were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. Akademija was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Guard Matas Sapiega (180-90) notched 12 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists to lead the effort and power forward Rokas Cepanonis (207-89) who supported him with 15 points and 7 rebounds. Four Erelita-KTU players scored in double figures. Even 12 points and 9 rebounds by center Egidijus Mockevicius (204-92) did not help to save the game for Akademija. Guard Paulius Lescinskas (188-93) added 13 points for lost side. Akademija's coach gave up on the game allowing to play twelve players seeing no chance for a win. The victory allowed Erelita-KTU (6-15) to climb to the thirteenth place. Akademija who is 5-15 went down to fourteenth position as they suffered their fifteenth loss. Erelita-KTU will play against league's leader Pieno Zvaigzdes in Pasvalys in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Akademija will play on the road against the league's second-placed Meresta (#2) having rather not much hope for a victory.
