There was no surprise in Poznan where 10th ranked Inea AZS (4-10) was defeated by third ranked CCC Polkowice (12-2) 69-56 on Saturday. It was a very close game until the last quarter, when CCC Polkowice's preassure prevailed and they won that period 18-10 extending their advantage to 13 points. CCC Polkowice forced 19 Inea AZS turnovers. It was a great evening for American power forward Amisha Carter (188-82, college: Louisiana Tech) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 14 rebounds. International power forward Joanna Walich (183-81) helped adding 16 points and 6 rebounds. Four CCC Polkowice players scored in double figures. CCC Polkowice's coach Krzysztof Koziorowicz used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was international guard Weronika Idczak (175-89) with 13 points and 6 assists and the former international forward Elzbieta Mowlik (180-83, agency: Data Plus Group) scored 12 points and 7 rebounds. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for CCC Polkowice. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Gorzow. Loser Inea AZS keeps the tenth position with ten games lost. CCC Polkowice will meet at home league's second-placed AZS Gorzow Wielkopolski in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Inea AZS will play against Lider Pruszkow (#4) and hope to secure a win.
