Regular Season Round 19: Takamatsu FA - Okinawa GK 69-84

Date: December 18, 2010
Not a big story in a game when 9th ranked Takamatsu FA (5-12) lost at home to third ranked Okinawa GK (12-7) 84-69 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Okinawa GK. Takamatsu FA managed to win second quarter 24-22. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. American players dominated also this game. It was an exceptional evening for swingman Carlos Dixon (202-81, college: Virginia Tech, agency: Strategic Sports) who led the winners and scored 25 points and 6 rebounds. Center Jeff Newton (205-81, college: Indiana) accounted for 13 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists for the winning side. Okinawa GK's coach Dai Oketani used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Guard Rasheed Sparks (190-77, college: Morgan St.) came up with 14 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and forward Jefferey Price (203-85, college: Miss.Valley St.) added 12 points and 5 rebounds respectively for Takamatsu FA in the defeat. Four Okinawa GK and five Takamatsu FA players scored in double figures. Okinawa GK did not change their third position in the standings. Takamatsu FA dropped to the sixth place. They have the same record like Toyama Grouses. Okinawa GK will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Takamatsu FA will play against Okinawa GK (#3) and hope to secure a win.
