Regular Season Round 13: M.Hainaut - Oostende 88-86

The biggest surprise of round 13 in the D1 took place in Quaregnon. Second ranked Dexia Mons-Hainaut (8-2) saved a 2-point victory at home edging 5th ranked Base Oostende (5-7) 88-86 on Saturday evening. Base Oostende was trailing by 15 points at halftime but managed to get 3-point lead after three quarters before a 22-17 charge of Dexia Mons-Hainaut, which allowed them to win the game. They shot the lights out from three sinking 15 long-distance shots on high 62.5 percentage. American players dominated the game. Worth to mention a great performance of swingman Shan Foster (198-86, college: Vanderbilt) who helped to win the game recording 27 points. Guard Ronell Taylor (196-82, college: UAB) contributed with 20 points and 5 assists (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) for the winners. Guard Darrel Mitchell (180-84, college: LSU, agency: Beo Basket) answered with 20 points and 8 assists and forward Will Thomas (200-86, agency: Interperformances) added 26 points (on 11-of-13 shooting from the field) in the effort for Base Oostende. Four Base Oostende players scored in double figures. Base Oostende's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Dexia Mons-Hainaut did not change their second position in the standings. Base Oostende keeps the fifth place. Dexia Mons-Hainaut are looking forward to face Spirou Charleroi (#4) on the road in the next round. Base Oostende will play against Antwerp Giants and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
