Ninth-ranked Kings (1-14) made lots of trouble for second ranked Perth Wildcats (10-5) on Sunday. Perth Wildcats managed to secure only three-point victory 87-84. However their fans expected much easier game. Kings were trailing by 5 points at halftime but managed to get 10-point lead after three quarters before a 23-10 charge of Perth Wildcats, which allowed them to win the game. They also forced 21 Kings turnovers. The former international forward Shawn Redhage (203-81, college: Arizona St., agency: Warren Sports International) fired a double-double by scoring 27 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Forward Jesse Wagstaff (203-86, college: Metro St.) chipped in 14 points. The former international center Julian Khazzouh (211-86) produced a double-double by scoring 23 points, 12 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 blocks and American forward Trey Gilder (206-85, college: Northwestern St.) added 13 points and 7 rebounds respectively for lost side. Kings' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Perth Wildcats have an impressive five-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains second position with 10-5 record having just two points less than leader Breakers. Kings lost thirteenth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom place with 14 games lost. Perth Wildcats will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Kings will play at home against Melbourne Tigers (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
