Regular Season Round 9: Amarillida - Olympiakos 49-58

Bottom-ranked Amarillida (0-9) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 49-58 loss to tenth ranked Olympiakos (2-7) in Amarillida. It looked good early as Amarillida took an 10-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Olympiakos took control and eventually winning the game that evening by 9 points. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Amarillida to just 7 points in second and third quarters. Guard Maria Kiritsaka (168-87) nailed a double-double by scoring 13 points and 14 rebounds for the winning side and center Asimina Koutsounouri (190) accounted for 15 points and 11 rebounds. Four Olympiakos players scored in double figures. Guard Iro Valantasi (188-86) came up with 9 points and 10 rebounds and forward Maria Kaperoni (178) added 9 points respectively for Amarillida in the defeat. Amarillida's coach Takis Kostopoulos rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Olympiakos maintains tenth place with 2-7 record. Amarillida lost their ninth game in a row. Newly promoted team still closes the standings with nine games lost.
