Regular Season Round 22: Mitsubishi DD - Panasonic T. 63-65

Seventh-ranked Mitsubishi Dolphins (8-14) gave a tough game to third ranked Panasonic Trians (14-8) in Nagoya. The visitors from Osaka managed to secure only two-point victory 65-63. However their fans expected much easier game. It looked good early as Mitsubishi Dolphins took an 1-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Panasonic Trians had a 19-16 second quarter charge getting the lead and Mitsubishi Dolphins were not able to take back game control losing it eventually 63-65. International guard Kenta Hirose (193-85) notched 17 points and 5 rebounds to lead the effort and the former international center Fumihiko Aono (210-78) who supported him with 7 points and 8 rebounds. Even 15 points and 5 rebounds by American-Spanish forward Ontario Lett (198-79, college: Pittsburgh) did not help to save the game for Mitsubishi Dolphins. Power forward Jun Uzawa (197-81) added 14 points and 5 rebounds for lost side. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Panasonic Trians has a solid four-game winning streak. Despite the victory they stay at third position having just three points less than leader Aishin. Mitsubishi Dolphins are currently in sixth place with a 8-14 record as they suffered their fourteenth loss. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
