An interesting game took place in Avellino where higher ranked Vanoli-Braga (5-5) was upset on the court of twelfth ranked Air Avellino (5-5) 83-69 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Air Avellino. Vanoli-Braga managed to win second period 17-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. At the losing side American-Bulgarian guard Earl Rowland (188-83, college: St.Mary's, CA) responded with 15 points and 5 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and British-Ukrainian guard Artur Drozdov (199-80) scored 16 points and 5 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The victory allowed Air Avellino (4-6) to climb to the tenth place. They share it with four other teams. Vanoli-Braga is currently in sixth position with a 5-5 record. Air Avellino will face Pepsi Caserta (#11) at home in the next round.
