Regular Season Round 9: Ikaros - Kolossos 69-84

No shocking result in a game when fifth ranked VAP Kolossos (6-3) beat 8th ranked Ikaros (4-5) in Kalitheas 84-69 on Sunday. The guests trailed by 9 points after first quarter, but they stormed back and winning the game by 15 points. Ikaros was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for guard Angelos Tsamis (192-81) who led his team to a victory with 18 points and 5 rebounds. Power forward Costas Harissis (211-79, college: USC, agency: Impact Basketball) contributed with 15 points and 7 rebounds (perfect from the field making all six shots) for the winners. International guard Giannis Kalambokis (195-78, agency: FCM) answered with 19 points (went 9 for 9 at the free throw line !!!) and American guard Lans Harris (195-83, college: Kansas St.) added 16 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Ikaros. Four Ikaros players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for VAP Kolossos. Of course they jumped to the third spot. They share the position with Kavala. Ikaros keeps the eighth place. VAP Kolossos will face league's leader Olympiakos in Athens in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Ikaros will play on the road against Kavala (#3).
