Everything could happen in Jinjiang at the game between two tied teams. Both thirteenth ranked Liaoning Hunters and 14th ranked Fujian SBS XunXin had identical 1-2 record. But Fujian SBS XunXin was not able to use a home court advantage and lost to the opponent from Yingkou 95-106 on Sunday night. The guests trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 58-45 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Strangely Fujian SBS XunXin outrebounded Liaoning Hunters 51-39 including 24 on the offensive glass. Fujian SBS XunXin was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Ming Yang (193-85) who helped to win the game recording 30 points and international guard Ailun Guo (193-93) who added 17 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. Five Liaoning Hunters players scored in double figures. At the losing side American center Dwayne Jones (211-83, college: St.Joseph's) responded with a double-double by scoring 36 points (!!!) and 31 rebounds and center GengLin Yang (208-88) scored 14 points. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory allowed Liaoning Hunters (2-2) to climb to the seventh place. They share it with Shanghai and Zhejiang G.L. Fujian SBS XunXin is currently in thirteenth position with a 1-3 record. Liaoning Hunters will face higher ranked Bayi Fubang (#4) in Ningbo in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Fujian SBS XunXin will play at home against Beijing Ducks (#3).
