Very significant was Electra Ramat's (#2) 72-60 home victory against 3rd placed Maccabi Ashdod. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Maccabi Ashdod. The hosts were ahead by 3 points but lost the second period ending it with a 2-point deficit before their 20-6 run, which allowed them to win the game. Electra Ramat dominated on the defensive end, holding Maccabi Ashdod to just 6 points in fourth quarter. They players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. Forward Ambrosia Anderson (186-84, college: BYU) came up with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 14 rebounds and guard Renee Montgomery (170-86, college: Connecticut, agency: LBM Management) added 14 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for Maccabi Ashdod in the defeat. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Electra Ramat. The victory allowed current champions Electra Ramat (10-1) to maintain a leadership position. They share it with Elitzur Ramla. Maccabi Ashdod is currently in third place with a 7-4 record. Electra Ramat will play against Elitzur Netanya (#7) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Maccabi Ashdod will play against Elitzur Holon (#8) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
