No shocking result in a game in Mexico City where sixth ranked Angeles (23-12) smashed 16th ranked Titanes (8-27) 94-70 on Monday. The game was mostly controlled by Angeles. Titanes managed to win second period 21-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Angeles dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to Titanes' 44. They outrebounded Titanes 36-19 including a 28-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. Venezuelan forward Axiers Sucre (198-78) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 13 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners and American-Venezuelan forward Jermaine Walker (198-77, college: Miami (FL)) chipped in 21 points. Four Angeles players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was naturalized American swingman Eric Martin (196-76) with 25 points and forward Christopher Silva scored 21 points and 5 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Angeles has a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain sixth place with 23-12 record. Newly promoted Titanes keep the sixteenth position with 27 games lost. Angeles will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Titanes will play again against Angeles (#6) in Puebla and hope to secure a win.
