There was no surprise when 16th ranked Stade Clermont (4-11) was defeated at home by eighth ranked Chalons-Reims (9-6) 74-68 on Tuesday. The best player for the winners was Chris Daniels who had a double-double by scoring 13 points and 15 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Stade Clermont was trailing by 4 points at halftime but managed to get 3-point lead after three quarters before a 26-17 charge of Chalons-Reims, which allowed them to win the game. They also forced 23 Stade Clermont turnovers. The best player for the winners was American forward Chris Daniels (200-82, college: Georgia, agency: Limelight Hoops) who had a double-double by scoring 13 points and 15 rebounds. His fellow his fellow American import import guard Donald Wilson (193-84, college: Portland, agency: Court Side) chipped in 18 points. At the other side the best for losing team was naturalized Mali swingman Souarata Cisse (197-86) who recorded 19 points and American swingman Dreke Bouldin (202-80, college: Fresno St.) added 12 points and 8 rebounds respectively. Chalons-Reims have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They moved-up to fifth place, which they share with 3 other teams.
