Regular Season Round 24: Komarno - Inter Bratislava 93-90

Ninth-ranked Inter Bratislava (7-14) gave a tough game to fifth ranked Komarno (11-11). Komarno managed to secure only three-point victory 93-90. However their fans expected much easier game. After very bad start, Inter Bratislava stormed back in the second period cutting the deficit to 1 point 54-53. But it was not enough and Komarno took back the control in second half. They made 27-of-34 charity shots (79.4 percent) during the game. Komarno outrebounded Inter Bratislava 33-19 including 22 on the defensive glass. Inter Bratislava was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. The winners were led by forward Martins Berkis (199-85, agency: Warren Sports International) who scored that evening 28 points and 4 assists and Bahamas forward Jaraun Burrows (203-85, college: IPFW, agency: Warren Sports International) supported him with 24 points and 6 rebounds. Four Komarno players scored in double figures. Komarno's coach Juraj Suja allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Even 21 points by American guard Keyron Sheard (188-86, college: Chattanooga) did not help to save the game for Inter Bratislava. British forward Frank Holmes (206-84, college: UAB) added 22 points and 5 rebounds. Komarno maintains fifth position with 11-11 record. Inter Bratislava at the other side dropped to the bottom place with 14 games lost. They share the position with B.Bystrica. Komarno will play against Levice (#6) on the road in the next round. Inter Bratislava will play against Prievidza (#9) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
