Jilin Tigers can celebrate their first win this season after four consecutive loses. The victory is especially important as they defeated much higher ranked Jiangsu Dragons (3-2) 98-94 on Wednesday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 23-19. But Jiangsu Dragons won second period 24-22. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Jilin Tigers won last quarter 30-27. They made 17-of-21 free shots (81.0 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was American swingman David Young (196-81, college: N.C.Central, agency: Impact Basketball) who scored 29 points and 9 rebounds. Forward Cheng Zhong (206-89) chipped in a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds. French power forward Jerome Moiso (208-78, college: UCLA) produced a double-double by scoring 15 points and 14 rebounds and the former international center ZhengDong Tang (213-84) added 18 points and 5 rebounds respectively for the guests. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Jiangsu Dragons' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Jilin Tigers (1-4) left bottom position moving up to fifteenth place, which they share with Zhejiang C. and Fujian. Jiangsu Dragons at the other side keep the fifth position with two games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Jilin Tigers is looking forward to face higher ranked Shanghai Sharks (#6) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Jiangsu Dragons will play against Liaoning Hunters in Yingkou and are hoping to win this game.
