Regular Season Round 23: BC Kyiv - Khimik 71-85

Bottom-ranked Khimik managed to get a fourth victory, breaking the series of four consecutive loses. This time they won against twelfth-ranked BC Kyiv 85-71. The game was mostly controlled by Khimik. BC Kyiv managed to win second period 18-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Khimik won last quarter 32-20. Khimik had a 24-13 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Khimik especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 53.3 percentage. It was an exceptional evening for Bosnian forward Toni Bizaca (202-82) who led the winners and scored 20 points and 7 rebounds. American guard Curtis Millage (185-81, college: Arizona St.) accounted for 16 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists for the winning side. Guard Oleksandr Lypovyy (200-91) came up with 24 points and 5 rebounds and center Maksym Sandul (207-91) added 14 points and 9 rebounds respectively for BC Kyiv in the defeat. Five Khimik and four BC Kyiv players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Khimik maintains thirteenth place with 4-16 record. BC Kyiv lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the twelfth position with 17 games lost. Khimik will play against higher ranked Halychyna (#10) in Lviv in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. BC Kyiv will have a break next round.
