There was a small surprise when eleventh ranked Lleida Basquet (7-8) won on the road against 8th ranked Girona FC (7-8) 84-77 on Thursday. It was a great evening for American swingman Mildon Ambres (198-84, college: S.Nazarene, agency: Impact Basketball) who led his team to a victory scoring 26 points. Power forward Hector Manzano (205-80) helped adding 12 points and 9 rebounds. Four Lleida Basquet players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was swingman David Navarro (192-83) with 22 points and Croatian power forward Mateo Kedzo (207-84) scored 11 points and 7 rebounds. Girona FC's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Lleida Basquet moved-up to eighth place, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Girona FC. Lleida Basquet will meet at home league's leader Obradoiro CAB in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Girona FC will play against Ford Burgos (#4) and hope to secure a win.
