There was no surprise when 8th ranked Miyazaki Shining Suns (6-16) were defeated on the road by second ranked Sendai 89ers (12-8) 93-86 on Saturday. Miyazaki Shining Suns trailed by 13 points after 3 quarters before a 27-21 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 86-93 at the end of the game. Sendai 89ers looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. The game was also dominated by American players. The best player for the winners was guard Mac Hopson (188-87, college: Idaho) who had a double-double by scoring 24 points, 6 rebounds and 11 assists. Power forward Chris Holm (212-84, college: Vermont) chipped in a double-double by scoring 21 points and 15 rebounds. They maintain second place with 12-8 record having eight points less than leader Osaka Evessa. Loser Miyazaki Shining Suns keep the eighth position with 16 games lost.
