Rather predictable result when thirteenth ranked Qingdao Double Star (2-4) won at home against bottom-ranked Fujian SBS XunXin (1-6) 113-99 on Sunday. It was a very close game until the last quarter, when Qingdao Double Star's preassure prevailed and they won that period 36-23 extending their advantage to 14 points. Qingdao Double Star forced 29 Fujian SBS XunXin turnovers. Fujian SBS XunXin was plagued by 29 personal fouls down the stretch. Quite impressive performance for American forward Charles Gaines (201-81, college: S.Mississippi, agency: Gross Zeev ISA) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 46 points (!!!) and 17 rebounds. His fellow American import guard Dee Brown (185-84, college: Illinois) contributed with 19 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. Four Qingdao Double Star players scored in double figures. Qingdao Double Star's coach Weili Wang used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American center Dwayne Jones (211-83, college: St.Joseph's) answered with a double-double by scoring 30 points and 23 rebounds and power forward Lei Guo (201-83) added 20 points in the effort for Fujian SBS XunXin. Qingdao Double Star moved-up to tenth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Fujian SBS XunXin lost their fourth game in a row. They dropped to the bottom position with six games lost. Qingdao Double Star will face higher ranked Bayi Fubang (#7) in Ningbo in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Fujian SBS XunXin will play at home against Shandong Bulls (#10) in Jinan.
