Very predictable result when sixth ranked Espoo Honka (13-8) won on the road against 11th ranked Salon Vilpas (5-17) 78-74 on Tuesday. Salon Vilpas trailed by 13 points after 3 quarters before a 25-16 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 74-78 at the end of the game. American guard Jamar Wilson (185-84, college: Albany) notched 36 points (!!!), 8 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the effort and the other American import center John Williamson (198-86, college: Cincinnati) supported him with 18 points and 8 rebounds. Espoo Honka's coach Pekka Salminen used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Even 24 points by forward Samu Kaaresvirta (192-81) did not help to save the game for Salon Vilpas. The former international forward Jukka Kataja (197-82) added 14 points and 6 rebounds for lost side. Four Salon Vilpas players scored in double figures. Espoo Honka has a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place. Loser Salon Vilpas keeps the eleventh position with 17 games lost. Espoo Honka will meet at home league's leader KTP-Basket in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Salon Vilpas will play against LrNMKY (#10) in Lappeenranta and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
