Regular Season Round 11: TSU Tbilisi - Kutaisi 63-86

Superleague round 11 most important game was a victory of Kutaisi over 4th placed TSU 86-63 on Wednesday night. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of TSU. It was a key game for the second position in the league. The game was mostly controlled by Kutaisi. TSU managed to win fourth quarter 21-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to TSU's 30. Kutaisi outrebounded TSU 46-33 including a 31-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Guard Buba Kvimsadze (195-82) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 10 rebounds and 9 assists. Center Mamuka Bolkvadze (205-83) contributed with 18 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Five Kutaisi players scored in double figures. Forward Zurab Korkotadze (194-83) answered with 17 points and guard Giorgi Markhvashvili (190-83) added 8 points and 11 assists in the effort for TSU. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Kutaisi (8-3) moved-up to second place, which they share with MIA Tbilisi. TSU at the other side dropped to the fifth position with four games lost. They share it with Sokhumi. Kutaisi is looking forward to face Energy Invest (#4) in Rustavi in the next round. TSU's supporters also look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Tbilisi GTU.
