There was no surprise when 17th ranked CB Granada (3-10) was defeated at home by eighth ranked Blancos de Rueda (7-6) 86-79 on Wednesday. The guests trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 11-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 86-79. American forward Jason Robinson (196-80, college: Pikeville) stepped up and scored 17 points and 6 rebounds for the winners and Dominican forward Eulis Baez (201-82, college: W.Illinois) chipped in 6 points and 12 rebounds. Four Blancos de Rueda players scored in double figures. Blancos de Rueda's coach Porfirio Fisac used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. At the losing side American guard Coby Karl (196-83, college: Boise St.) responded with 21 points and 4 assists and the other American import forward Robert Kurz (206-85, college: Notre Dame, agency: Priority Sports) produced a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds. Blancos de Rueda moved-up to fifth place, which they share with 7 other teams. Loser CB Granada keeps the seventeenth position with ten games lost. They share it with Meridiano. Blancos de Rueda will meet at home Gran Canaria 2014 (#8) in the next round. CB Granada will play against the league's second-placed Real Madrid (#2) and hope to secure a win.
