Regular Season Round 36: Toros - Lechugueros 69-70

The biggest surprise of round 36 in the LNBP took place in Nuevo Laredo. Eighth ranked Lechugueros (22-14) saved a 1-point derby victory on the road edging higher ranked Toros (25-11) 70-69 on Wednesday evening. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Toros. Toros were tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. It was a good game for Jamaican guard Ricky Johns (193-85, college: Utah) who saved his team from a defeat with 27 points. Bahamas power forward Ryan Moss (200-74, college: UALR) contributed with 14 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Four Lechugueros players scored in double figures. Naturalized American forward Quentin Joseph (200-84, college: McNeese St.) replied with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 12 rebounds and American guard Anthony Rougeau (198-86, college: UNLV) added 20 points in the effort for Toros. Lechugueros moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Lobos Grises and Huracanes. Toros at the other side keep the fourth position with 11 games lost. They share it with Halc.Rojos. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
