Another interesting game was a derby match between two teams from Cork: UCC Demons (#2) and Neptune (#3). UCC Demons (7-3) smashed visiting Neptune (7-5) by 18 points 86-68. Worth to mention a great performance of American power forward Marcus Van (201-85, college: Cent.Michigan) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 24 points and 15 rebounds and Kyle Hosford (-89) who added 17 points during the contest. UCC Demons' coach Paul Kelleher allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. The best for the losing side was Grenadian forward Michael Bonaparte (196-82, college: Coll.of the Ozarks) with a double-double by scoring 29 points and 15 rebounds (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) and swingman Philip Taylor (196-86, college: Genesee CC) produced a double-double by scoring 19 points and 12 rebounds. UCC Demons maintains second position with 7-3 record having four points less than leader UL Eagles. Neptune at the other side keeps the third place with five games lost. UCC Demons will play against Moycullen (#4) at home in the next round. Neptune will have a break next round.
