Regular Season Round 12: JuveCaserta - Acea Virtus RM 68-60
Date: January 2, 2011
There was a small surprise when fourteenth ranked Pepsi Caserta (5-7) won at home against 12th ranked Lottomatica Roma (5-7) 68-60 on Sunday. The hosts trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 4-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 68-60. Pepsi Caserta forced 20 Lottomatica Roma turnovers. It was a good game for American center Eric Williams (206-84, college: Wake Forest, agency: Priority Sports) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds. The other American import forward Jumaine Jones (201-79, college: Georgia) contributed with 13 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Bosnian forward Nihad Dedovic (196-90, agency: Beo Basket) replied with 20 points and 7 rebounds and the former international center Andrea Crosariol (212-84, college: Fairleigh Dickinson) added 9 points and 12 rebounds in the effort for Lottomatica Roma. Lottomatica Roma's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Pepsi Caserta moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with Lottomatica and Benetton TV. Pepsi Caserta will face higher ranked Armani Milano (#3) on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
