Regular Season Round 10: TianJin S. - Beijing Ducks 93-66

The most important game in the last round took place in Tianjin between third ranked Beijing Ducks (7-3) and sixteenth ranked TianJin Rongcheng (2-7) on Sunday night. Beijing Ducks were crushed by TianJin Rongcheng on the road 66-93. The game was mostly controlled by TianJin Rongcheng. Beijing Ducks managed to win second period 22-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. TianJin Rongcheng dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Beijing Ducks' 38. TianJin Rongcheng looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when TianJin Rongcheng made 7 blocks. Worth to mention a great performance of American power forward Lee Benson (208-73, college: Brown Mackie, agency: Paris Global Sports) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 22 points and 15 rebounds. Forward Nan Zhang (197-81) contributed with 21 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners. Four TianJin Rongcheng players scored in double figures. American power forward Randolph Morris (211-86, college: Kentucky) replied with 10 points and 9 rebounds and guard LiBin Xie (190-88) added 15 points in the effort for Beijing Ducks. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. TianJin Rongcheng moved-up to fifteenth place, which they share with Shanxi Zh. Beijing Ducks at the other side dropped to the fourth position with three games lost. TianJin Rongcheng is looking forward to face league's second-placed Xinjiang Flying Tige in Urumqi in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Beijing Ducks will play at home against the league's leader DongGuan Leopards having rather not much hope for a victory.
