There was a small surprise when thirteenth ranked Foshan (3-6) beat at home 11th ranked Jilin Tigers (3-7) 95-91 on Sunday. Jilin Tigers trailed by 14 points after 3 quarters before a 25-15 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 91-95 at the end of the game. Foshan dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to Jilin Tigers' 42. Foshan forced 19 Jilin Tigers turnovers. Quite impressive performance for American guard Stephon Marbury (187-77, college: Georgia Tech) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 assists. Guard Ben He (202-89) contributed with 23 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. American power forward Jameel Watkins (211-77, college: Georgetown) replied with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 17 rebounds and forward Jiang Du (200-82) added 21 points in the effort for Jilin Tigers. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Jilin Tigers' coach let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Foshan moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with Shandong and Qingdao DS. Loser Jilin Tigers dropped to the fourteenth position with seven games lost. Foshan will face higher ranked Liaoning Hunters (#8) in Yingkou in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Jilin Tigers will play at home against Zhejiang Guangsha Lions (#7) in Hangzhou.
