There was no surprise when 11th ranked LrNMKY (6-18) was defeated on the road by fifth ranked Espoo Honka (14-9) 93-78 on Sunday. The hosts trailed by 10 points after first quarter, but they stormed back and won the game by 15 points. Espoo Honka dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to LrNMKY's 36. The best player for the winners was American forward Corey Belser (200-82, college: San Diego) who had a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds. The former international forward Jukka Matinen (203-78) chipped in 27 points. Four Espoo Honka players scored in double figures. Espoo Honka's coach Pekka Salminen used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward HL Coleman (202-74, college: Wyoming) who recorded a double-double by scoring 28 points and 13 rebounds and his fellow American import guard Malik Moore (192-77, college: Amer.Internat., agency: Prossin Sports Management) added 21 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists respectively. Espoo Honka moved-up to fourth place. LrNMKY lost third consecutive game. They keep the eleventh position with 18 games lost. Espoo Honka are looking forward to face UU-Korihait (#5) in Uusikaupunki in the next round. LrNMKY will play on the road against Kouvot (#6) in Kouvola and is hoping to prove to their fans that they can break losing series.
