Another important game to mention about took place in Warszawa. Eighth ranked Polonia Azbud (6-6) saved a 2-point victory at home edging 6th ranked Anwil (5-6) 77-75 on Sunday evening. The hosts trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 37-33 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. The winners were led by American forward Tony Easley (206-87, college: Murray St.) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 24 points and 15 rebounds (perfect from the field making all ten shots !!!) and American-Puerto Rican guard Darnell Hinson (186-80, college: Northeastern St.) supported him with 17 points. Even 19 points and 8 rebounds by American power forward Paul Miller (208-82, college: Wichita St.) did not help to save the game for Anwil. Serbian power forward Nikola Jovanovic (203-81, agency: BeoExcell) added 13 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Anwil's coach Emir Mutapcic rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Polonia Azbud moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Zastal and Polpharma. Anwil lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the eighth position with six games lost. They share it with AZS Koszalin. Polonia Azbud will meet at home higher ranked Asseco Prokom (#4) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Anwil will play against the league's second-placed PGE Turow (#2) in Zgorzelec and hope to secure a win.
