Regular Season Round 10: DongGuan L. - Liaoning H. 115-103

CBA top team - DongGuan Leopards (9-0) managed to deliver another win. This time they beat eighth ranked Liaoning Hunters (5-5) 115-103. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Liaoning Hunters. The game was mostly controlled by DongGuan Leopards. Liaoning Hunters managed to win fourth quarter 28-25. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. DongGuan Leopards made 26-of-31 charity shots (83.9 percent) during the game. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. Liaoning Hunters were plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. American-Lebanese power forward Jackson Vroman (208-81, college: Iowa St.) scored 24 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field) to lead the charge for the winners and forward Biao Qiu (200-83) chipped in 28 points and 8 rebounds (made all of his nine free throws !!!) during the contest. At the losing side American guard Donta Smith (201-83, college: SE Illinois JC) responded with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 10 rebounds and the former international center Xiaoxu Li (207-90) produced a double-double by scoring 16 points and 12 rebounds. Four DongGuan Leopards and five Liaoning Hunters players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. DongGuan Leopards have an impressive nine-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 9-0 record, which they share with Xinjiang. Liaoning Hunters at the other side keep the eighth place with five games lost. They share the position with Shanghai. DongGuan Leopards will play against Beijing Ducks (#4) on the road in the next round. Liaoning Hunters will play against Foshan (#12) and hope to get back on the winning track.
