Bottom-ranked Meridiano Alicante managed to get a fourth victory, breaking the one-game losing streak. This time they won against fifth-ranked Lagun Aro GBC in San Sebastian 61-56. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Lagun Aro GBC won third quarter 18-12. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Meridiano Alicante won last quarter 17-14. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Lagun Aro GBC to just 7 points in first quarter. The best player for the winners was American forward Justin Doellman (206-85, college: Xavier) who had a double-double by scoring 17 points and 13 rebounds. Lithuanian power forward Martynas Andriuskevicius (218-86, agency: Interperformances) chipped in 9 points, 7 rebounds and 4 blocks. The former international center Albert Miralles (208-82, agency: Interperformances) produced a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds and American guard Jimmy Baron (191-86, college: Rhode Island) added 20 points respectively for the hosts. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Meridiano Alicante (4-10) moved-up to sixteenth place, which they share with Menorca. Lagun Aro GBC at the other side dropped to the eighth position with seven games lost. Meridiano Alicante's next round opponent will be higher ranked CAI Zaragoza (#15) at home and it may be quite challenging game.
