An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Kotka. First ranked KTP-Basket faced 4th ranked UU-Korihait. Host KTP-Basket (20-4) smashed guests from Uusikaupunki (14-10) 121-83. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of UU-Korihait. The game without a history. KTP-Basket led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to UU-Korihait's 32. KTP-Basket forced 21 UU-Korihait turnovers and outrebounded them 44-28 including 18 on the offensive glass. The best player for the winners was Canadian forward Sefton Barrett (196-83, college: Cent.Michigan, agency: Limelight Hoops) who scored 41 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds. American forward Jerald Fields (201-82, college: E.Tenn.St., agency: Lanshire Group) chipped in a double-double by scoring 10 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists. Four KTP-Basket players scored in double figures. KTP-Basket's coach Ray Ailus felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Lawrence Wright (195-84, college: Bradley) who recorded a double-double by scoring 32 points and 11 rebounds and his fellow American import swingman Nigel Moore (195-81, college: Alabama A&M) added 27 points and 5 rebounds respectively. KTP-Basket has a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 20-4 record. UU-Korihait at the other side dropped to the fifth place with ten games lost. KTP-Basket are looking forward to face bottom-ranked Porvoon_Tarmo (#12) on the road in the next round which should be another easy win for them. UU-Korihait will play against Espoo Honka (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
