Regular Season Round 23: Fukuoka Rizing - Oita H.Devils 66-63

Sixth-ranked Oita Heat Devils (9-13) gave a tough game to fourth ranked Fukuoka Rizing (15-9) on Sunday. Fukuoka Rizing managed to secure only three-point victory 66-63. However their fans expected easier game. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Oita Heat Devils. The hosts trailed by 9 points at the halftime before their 45-33 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Strangely Oita Heat Devils outrebounded Fukuoka Rizing 46-26 including a 17-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. Americans were the main players on the court. It was a great evening for guard Nile Murry (193-83, college: TCU) who led his team to a victory scoring 17 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists. Swingman Michael Parker (200-81, college: Evergreen St.) helped adding 17 points and 9 rebounds. Four Fukuoka Rizing players scored in double figures. Forward Damian Johnson (201-87, college: Minnesota, agency: Edge Sports) responded with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 15 rebounds and 5 assists and guard Matt Lottich (193-82, college: Stanford) scored 15 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Fukuoka Rizing moved-up to second place. Oita Heat Devils at the other side keep the sixth position with 13 games lost. Fukuoka Rizing are looking forward to face league's second-placed Sendai 89ers on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Oita Heat Devils will play against Tokyo Apache (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
