The biggest surprise of round 12 in the SerieA took place in Varese. Eighth ranked Angelico Biella (6-6) saved a 2-point victory at home edging one of their biggest challengers Cimberio Varese (6-6) 75-73 in the game for the fourth place. The guests trailed by 6 points after three quarters before their 23-15 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Angelico Biella forced 20 Cimberio Varese turnovers. It was a good game for Dominican guard Edgar Sosa (188-88, college: Louisville) who led his team to a victory with 26 points. Naturalized American forward Jeffrey Viggiano (200-84, college: Massachusetts) contributed with 16 points and 5 rebounds for the winners.
