Very important is a home loss of third ranked Okinawa GK (14-10) against fifth ranked Kyoto Hannaryz (12-12) on Monday night. Host Okinawa GK was defeated by fifth ranked Kyoto Hannaryz (12-12) in a tough game in Okinawa 76-82. The guests were already 14 points ahead at halftime and as many as 18 after three quarters before a 32-20 last quarter charge of Okinawa GK cut the lead to 82-76 at the end of the game. Kyoto Hannaryz made 26-of-34 charity shots (76.5 percent) during the game. Strangely Okinawa GK outrebounded Kyoto Hannaryz 54-41 including 18 on the offensive glass. Okinawa GK was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Americans were the main players on the court also this time. It was an exceptional evening for guard Wendell White (198-84, college: UNLV) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 11 rebounds. Guard Mahmoud Abdul-Rauf (186-69, college: LSU) accounted for 24 points for the winning side. Four Kyoto Hannaryz players scored in double figures. Swingman Carlos Dixon (202-81, college: Virginia Tech, agency: Strategic Sports) came up with 26 points and 6 rebounds (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) and forward David Palmer (201-82, college: S.Utah) added 12 points and 8 rebounds respectively for Okinawa GK in the defeat. Okinawa GK's coach Dai Oketani rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Kyoto Hannaryz maintains fifth place with 12-12 record. Okinawa GK at the other side dropped to the fourth position with ten games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
